Conflict of Interest Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the business of the town will be conducted in such a way that no public officer will gain personal or financial advantage from his or her work for the town and so that the public trust in town officials will be preserved. It is also the intent of this policy to ensure that all decision made by town officials are based on the best interests of the community at large.
Facility Use Policy & Form
The Town of West Fairlee encourages use of its facilities for town business and, when appropriate, for community-based educational and informational meetings, services and other programming and events. However, to protect the Town and its taxpayers, use of Town property must be balanced against potential liability.
Fraud Prevention Policy
The purpose of this policy is to provide a mechanism for Town Town officials, residents & contractors to identify suspected fraud and bring it to the attention of officials or our auditors.
Personnel Policy
This Personnel Policy applies to full-time and part-time employees of the Town. Except by separate written agreement, elected officers and their statutory assistants, members of Town boards and commissions, volunteers, and persons who provide the Town with services on a contract basis are not covered by this Policy. Despite our small size, the presence of such a policy is required by several funding agencies such as FEMA.
Purchasing Policy
The purpose of this Purchasing Policy is to obtain the highest quality goods and services for the Town of West Fairlee at the lowest possible price; to exercise financial control over the purchasing process; to clearly define authority for the purchasing function; to allow fair and equal opportunity among qualified suppliers; and to provide for increased public confidence in the procedures followed in public purchasing.
