Do I Need A Permit?

The best source for information and answers is using the State's Permit Navigator tool. It's a free, easy to use, interactive, self-guided exercise that asks simple questions to determine permits that may be required for your project and will direct you to the appropriate state contacts to apply for those permits.

A couple common instances where State or other permits are required:

Waste Systems:

ALL waste systems require State permitting -- septic, gray water, composting toilets, even outhouses. These include, but are not limited to, new construction, renovations adding bedrooms, all campgrounds, and any repairs/updates to an existing system.
