Animal Control
The Animal Control Officer is responsible for enforcing State laws and the Town Dog Ordinance dealing with the care, treatment, licensing, and impounding of animals; picks up sick, injured, stray, or vicious animals; and issues citations for violations.
The purpose of the Dog Ordinance is to regulate the keeping of domestic pets, domestic animals and wolf-hybrids and their running at large in order to protect the health, safety, property and welfare of the citizens of West Fairlee.
Yearly dog licensing is done by the Town Clerk. The Animal Control Officer reports to the Selectboard.
